February 13, 1930 — August 17, 2020

Joyce Delores (Stone) Foggs transitioned from her earthly life to her eternal heavenly home on
Monday, August 17. Her heart was filled with music as she left quietly and peacefully after an
extended period of illness. Her memory will linger forever in the hearts of her family members
and in the lives of so many whom she mentored and influenced for good throughout her
lifetime.
She was born in Indianapolis to the late Wilbur Stone and Elizabeth Stone Allen, but lived most
of her life in Anderson–graduating from Anderson High School and Anderson College
[University]. She furthered her education with a Master’s Degree from Ball State University and
various other academic pursuits. She was a professional educator, vocalist, church
woman/leader, and extensively involved in the Anderson community. Across the years, she
served on more than twenty-five boards—local, state, and national. She was recognized for
her outstanding service with numerous awards and citations.
Joyce took special pride in her family! For sixty-five years she was married to the Rev. Dr.

union were born five children, all of whom are college graduates. Their children are Lynette
Beth (Duane) Fontenot of Baton Rouge, LA; Iris Yvonne (Kenneth) Wilcox of Dallas, TX; Edward
Elliot (Kimberly, deceased) Foggs of Avon, IN; Joy Sherese (Bartholomew) Riggins of Baton
Rouge, LA; and Alycia Darlene (Hosea) Anderson of Atlanta, GA.
They have eleven grandchildren: Duane Edward (Camille) Fontenot of Baton Rouge, LA; Ryan
Fontenot of Houston, TX; Meghan Winters of Baton Rouge, LA; Brandon Wilcox of Austin, TX;

The service of celebration for Joyce will be Saturday, August 29, at 11 AM at Madison Park
Church of God, 6607 Providence Dr., Anderson, IN 46013. Visitation will precede the service
from 9 to 11 AM. The Rev. Dr. Ronald J. Fowler of Akron, OH will be the eulogist. Burial will be
at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Persons desiring to honor her memory, in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Anderson
Area Children’s Choir, Anderson University, and the National Association of the Church of God
at West Middlesex, PA. Contact information will be included in the funeral service program.
