To my extended family, the Naves, we lift you up in prayer today and send you our love. Growing up and spending every summer with your family and Uncle Ed was one of life’s greatest gifts. I thank Aunt Hazel and Uncle Ed for their loving example of a beautiful marriage and family and thank Nichelle and Chris for being my big brother and sister. From family trips to Disney to summer cookouts and catching fire files, I will cherish those memories forever. We look forward to celebrating this extraordinary life when we can all be together again. Love you all.
Meekness is the word that comes to mind when I think of Uncle Ed. He was a role model to me in how he conducted himself as a husband, father, and more. I’ve known him my whole life. His quiet and faithful example spoke volumes to me. I remember many years ago when I was just a teenager he told me about how he gave his life to Christ. I did not know what it meant then, but it was a seed that was planted in me that God has used. I love you uncle Ed. Thank you for being so faithful.
We appreciate being able to view the funeral through streaming. Ed got me starting in the NAACP and was the reason I was an Indiana NAACP State Youth President. His life has impacted SO MANY! Our family is blessed to have experienced him as a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and friend! Hazel, Nichelle, Chris, and family, may God’s grace and mercy be your sufficient strength during this time.
Much love and prayer.
Guy “Jr.”
