Lionel Rhone Jr, 36, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 10, 2023 in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Lionel was born July 14, 1987, in Landstuhl, Germany to Lionel Rhone Sr. and Kathy Farley and resided in Anderson until his enlistment into the United States Air Force in 2009. He was a 2005 Graduate of Highland High School, Lionel spent 4 years with the Highland wrestling team finishing his senior year running track breaking many records for Highland during his 2004 to 2005 school year. Lionel chose Christ at the age of 15 being baptized at Memorial Circle Wesleyan Church officiated by the then Pastor Ashlock. Lionel then went on to study criminal justice at the University of Southern Indiana. Serving his country in the United States Air Force, his deployments include Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom earning him various accolades and promotions. During his travels abroad with his family, he enjoyed making memories with his wife Haylee Faye and son Emilio experiencing different cultures and societal norms. Lionel was an avid car club member who loved working on his20-year-old RX 7 to keep it in show condition. Lionel Cherished his family, respected his parents, and protected his sisters while always showing strength and courage behind his smile. Most of all, he gained the respect of his peers personally and professionally.

He leaves to cherish his memories is his wife of 8 years Haylee; young son Emilio; parents Lionel Rhone Sr. of Mascoutah, Il, Kathy (Julius) Hill Jr of Pendleton; sisters Tinita Farley of Lewisville, Tx, Crysphena Hill of Anderson, Lauryn Hill of Indianapolis; Brother Domonique Rhone of Lake Charles, La.; Uncles Timothy Lawler, Steve (Kimberly) Brown, William (Syjontez) Farley Jr., Harry (Latoya) Gibbs all of Anderson, Anthony Rhone of Mascoutah Ill, John (Alecia) Rhone of Charlotte, NC.; Grand-mother Rose Rhone of Mascoutah, Il,; Great Aunt Ruth Joan Britt of Atlanta, Ga.; Aunts Terri (Johnny) Floyd of Edmons, OK., Kimberly Farley, Valeria Rush, Shirley Gibbs, Mary (Bill) Jones, Brenda Gibbs Murray all of Anderson, Shirley Young of Minneapolis, MN, DeAnna Welch of Lafayette, IN; special Aunt Sylvia Williams of Fayetteville, NC.; Mother-in-Law Kim Torgenson; Brothers in law Shane Torgerson, Jon Torgerson; special Aunt and Uncle in law Tammy and Craig Sliningerall of Grand Forks, ND.; Lionel’s closest friends and special brothers that will continue to love and cherish his spirit are Aaron (Deney) McCowan, Brandon Strong, Adam Alt, Tyler Ketring; very special friends who are brothers to Lionel are Kyle Johnston and John Lovett, and Tony Wright. There are too many people to mention that loved Lionel and he loved them back just as much. Lionel also leaves to cherish his nephews, niece, many cousins and other extended friends and relatives. His special cousins whom he inspired the most were Christopher Lemon and Andrea Floyd.

Lionel is preceded in death by his grandparents Eula M. (Pierce) Welch, William and Bernice Farley, Great Grandparents Elbert and Katherine Lawler, Roscoe Pierce, Aunts Ruby Debro, Mary Lawler, Uncles Bartholomew Lawler, Matthew Lawler, Titus Lawler, and Father-in-Law Ron Runyan of Grand Forks, ND.

The Funeral service will be held on noon Saturday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., Anderson, IN 46016 with the Rev. Floyd Edwards officiating. Visitation hours will be 2 hours prior to the start of service.
