Leola Sue Miles Clarke Young, 68, departed life on April 5, 2016. She was the wife of John L. Clarke. In which, she devoted 19 years.
Leola was born January 27, 1948 in Anderson, IN, and attended Anderson Community Schools obtaining her GED in 1980. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and previously was a member of Anderson Zion Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and choir member. Leola was disabled after working for General Motors and as nursing assistant for a number of nursing homes. She served as a crossing guard for Shadeland Elementary School and annually served as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army during the Red Kettle Campaign.

Leola enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and dining. She loved her grunts, as she affectionately used this term in place of the word food. She will be remembered for being one who truly never met a stranger. Her big, beautiful smile was one to admire.
Leola is survived by her loving children; Robert Anderson of Arlington, TX, Beonica (Tyrone) Grant of Anderson, Reverend Eddie (Brenda) Perry of Birmingham, AL and Shonda (Mario) Craver of Birmingham, AL Sisters; Janiece Cox of Anderson, Marth Ann Harris of Indianapolis, Josie Bolden of Minneapolis, MN and Elizabeth Perry of Birmingham, AL. Grandchildren; Robert Jr., Myshalya, Leseka, Kornelius, Felecia, Johnnie, Deont’a, Korjon’ta, Are’tez, Evan, Julian, Bryson, Shauntoria, Shauntia, Mario, Colin and devoted Janaya; 17 Great-grandchildren; Special sister Riley Ann(Charles) Cooper of Albany, GA; Special Brother Leo Williams; Special niece Robin Perry of Albany, GA.; Special friend Thomas (TC) Crawford of Anderson, along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Thompson Warren; father, Rev. Samuel W. J. Miles; mother, Leola S. Young; brothers S.W. J. (Bo) Miles Jr., Robert Miles, Johnnie (Willie) Miles, Jonas Miles, Riley (Red) Whitson, Raliegh (Shorty) Whitson, Bobby Whitson, Wallace Whitson and John Wesley Whitson; sisters, Addie Mae Stevens, Mary Fuller, Sarah Miles and Belle Crisp, Special mother Nalishia Palmer great grandchildren Arz’johta and Danriah anderson.
