Walter Lee Cullum, 70, passed away Feb. 17, 2024.

Walter was born Sept. 27, 1953 to Henry and Reba Moore in Baton Rouge, LA.  He enjoyed taking care of dogs, riding horses and spending time with family and friends.

Walter is survived by his wife Debra Ann Cullum; sons Walter Cullum, Marcus Cullum, Reggie Cullum; daughter Cassandra Blanks; sisters Carolyn, Joe EveLynn, Eva Mae; brothers Laymon Grace, Sylvester, Ennius Cullum, Glenn Melvin Moore; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be noon Saturday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., with visitation 2 hours prior to service.
Burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carrie Lee (Dixon) Nunn, 96, departed this life peacefully on Feb. 19, 2024.
Carrie was born Sept. 15, 1927 to Ollie and Mahala Dixon in Scooba, MS. She was graduated of Anderson High School and a retiree from General Motors. Carrie enjoyed cooking and spending time with Family and Friends.

Carrie is survived by her sons Eddie (Matoka) Nunn, Samuel (Cindy) Nunn, Tommie (Patrice) Nunn, Wayman (Janice) Nunn, Willie (Yvette) Nunn, Robert Nunn, James Deamus; daughters Willie Mae Mebane, Mary Ann Nunn, Katherine Nunn, Matusha Fowlkes, Pam (James) Harris, Shirley Williams, brother Charles “Slim” Dixon and a host of grandchildren, family and friends.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents Ollie Dixon, Mahalia Dixon; sons Jessie Nunn, Henry Nunn; sisters Mary Simmons, Celia Watson, Rosie Nunn, Annie Nunn; brothers William Dixon, Sam Dixon, Charles Dixon, Spencer Dixon, Allen Dixon and J. T. Dixon.

Funeral service is noon Tuesday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St., with visitation 2 hours prior to service.
Burial at Maplewood Cemetery.

Armita Roseanne (Shields) Jones

Armita Roseanne (Shields) Jones departed this life on Sunday February 11, 2024, at approximately 12:35p of complications from an extended illness. Armita was born in the city of Anderson, in Madison County, Indiana. She was the second of three children of the late Charles K. (NellieGlazebrooks) Shields.

Armita graduated from Anderson High School in 1962 and attended Indiana Business College. She worked for Indiana Bell Telephone Company until her retirement.  In 1966, Armita married the love of her life, John A. Jones, and to this union were added five children.

Armita was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles “Buddy” Shields Jr., Sidney Shields, and her parents Charles K. Shields Sr., (Nellie) Shields. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Marsha (Damon) Roach, her five children, John Jones, Dr. Charles F. (Rhonda) Jones, Marcus (Jadelyn) Jones, Maurice Jones, and Jenita Jones, thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, greats, and close friends.

Visitation will be Friday February 16, 2024, at Christ Temple Apostolic Church 1610 W. 22nd St., Anderson, IN, from 5-8p.  A second viewing will be held Saturday February 17, 2024, from 10-11a, at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly W. 430 Fall Creek Pkwy N Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46208.

Douglas “Jose the DJ” Manuel, 67, passed away Feb. 7, 2024.

Douglas was born Feb. 24, 1956 to Otis Manuel and Althea Agnew-Wilson. He was a 1974 Madison Heights High School graduate and was retired as a bus driver for the city of Anderson. Douglas enjoyed listening/ playing music and spending time with family and friends.

Douglas is survived by his companion Pam Williams; son Douglas Manuel II; grandson Cullen Manuel; sister Linda Manuel; brothers Arthur Delaney Scott, Otis Manuel Jr.; special aunt Wilma Agnew Easley; helper Tina Ball and a host of family and friends.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Otis Manuel, Althea Agnew- Wilson; brothers James Manuel and Donnell Manuel.

Funeral service will be noon Friday at Glazebrooks Funeral Service, 2822 Nichol Ave, with visitation 2 hours prior to service.
